It’s been a mind bending start to the year. From travelling around Europe in a mobile pub, watching Turkish band Popcorn cover I Know Kung Fu in Istanbul, supporting Digitalism at Eurosonic and playing alongside the likes of Surkin & Para One. Its hard to believe its only the first month. We’ve all got brain lag, sleeping 9 to 5. A few weeks off in Glasgow will do us good before we start The Rapture tour at the fucking Astoria. Jesus.
This is Popcorn performing the James Ford Edit of I Know Kung Fu in Instanbul, Jan 2007.
The album’s finished, its called Kingdom of Fear, taken from the Hunter S Thompson book of the same name. It’ll be out on the 16th of April. Tracklisting to follow.
Went to see our good friends Haunted House play at White Heat on Tuesday, they played at 1am & blew the crowd away. If someone doesn’t put out a record of theirs soon I’m going to get a hernia. GO NOW: www.myspace.com/hauntedhouseparty
Possibly of minor interest to those outside of Glasgow, but the Police in Turkey really are called the Polis. Plus they drive tank boats over and carry missile launchers.
On a more serious note we’d like to say thanks and send best wishes to Lorne Ferguson our lighting engineer for the European tour who came back with pneumonia. Get well soon man.
